Opens in a new window Big Ten Release

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Penn State men's soccer senior Danny Bloyou was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.

Bloyou recorded three points in two games last week as the Nittany Lions defeated both Rutgers, 2-0, and Michigan, 2-1, to remain undefeated in Big Ten play.

The forward from Accra, Ghana scored the eventual game-winning goal at Rutgers last Tuesday, a phenomenal diving header that ended up as the No. 2 play on SportsCenter Top 10 that night. He then had the assist on teammate Andrew Privett's goal against Michigan on Sunday as the Nittany Lions took the lead for the first time during that game.

Bloyou has three goals and four assists for 10 total points this season. The four assists surpassed his career high of one from last season.

The honor is the first of Bloyou's career and the second for Penn State this season as sophomore Peter Mangione was named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 28.

Bloyou and the Nittany Lions ready for one final non-conference match during the regular season at Akron on Wednesday, Oct. 13 in Akron, Ohio. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and will stream live on ESPN+.
