Nittany Lions Set to Host Penn State National Open

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State cross country team is set to wrap up its regular season schedule when it hosts the Penn State National Open at the Blue & White Golf Courses on Friday. The day will kick-off with the women's 6k at 10:45 a.m. and will be followed by the men's 5.2-mile run at 11:30 a.m.

COMPETING TEAMS
Buffalo, Cornell, Duquesne, Georgia Tech, James Madison, Lehigh, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, Northwestern, Penn, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Siena College, Syracuse, Youngstown State.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Nittany Lions last competed in early October at the Paul Short Run at Lehigh. The Penn State women had a strong performance in the meet, placing sixth. Alison Willingmyre (31st) and Sophia Toti (34th) were Penn State's top finishers. Brandon Hontz led the Penn State men with a 44th place finish.
 
HONORING THE SENIOR CLASS
After the meet, the Nittany Lions will honor the accomplishments of their 11 seniors. The senior class consists of Ben Bumgarner, Isaac Davis, Hudson Delisle, Eric Hamel, Chris Hughes, Brandon Hontz, Connor McMenamin, Victoria Tachinski, Alex Tomasko, Jordan Williams and Alison Willingmyre.
 
HOME SWEET HOME
The meet will mark the second of three home meets this season for the Nittany Lions. Penn State will host the Big Ten Cross Country Championships later this month at the Penn State Golf Courses.
