University Park, Pa. - Penn State swimming and diving teams will travel to Morgantown West Virginia this weekend to compete in their second meet of the season. They'll race West Virginia at the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park on Friday, October 15 and Saturday, October 16.

On Friday, the women's team will compete at 6 p.m. The men's team, ranked 25th in the CSCAA Preseason Poll, will begin competing on Saturday at 11 a.m. Live stats will be available here and through the Meet Mobile app.

Both men and women's teams come into this matchup after wins over Navy last weekend. The men tallied a 181-119 win. The women earned a decisive win of 209-91, winning 11 individual events during the meet.

The Nittany Lions
The Nittany Lion men are coming into their second meet after capturing 10 individual event titles and both relay events against Navy. The team is ranked No. 25 in the CSCAA Preseason Poll. Michael Daly won three events, including the 200 Freestyle (1:37.82), 200 Backstroke (1:45.94) and 200 IM (1:48.80). Freshman Victor Baganha earned two first place finishes, topping the field in the 50 Freestyle (19.99) and 100 Freestyle (44.50). Junior Daniel Raisanen captured the 100 Breaststroke (54.89) and 200 Breaststroke (2:01.19) races.

The Penn State women are headed by Madison Murtagh, Abbie Amdor and Marie Schobel, each winning two individual events this past weekend against Navy. With Cat Stanford taking the top spot in the 50 free (23.18), Murtagh and Amdor, with wins in the 1000 (10:14.20) and 500 (4:55.23), and the 200 (1:49.11) and 100 (50.72), led Penn State in winning all the freestyle events. Schobel swept the backstroke events winning both the 100 (54.70) and 200 (1:58.67).

Senior Sierra Shurts and junior Wei Wei both impressed this past weekend. Shurts (281.63) earned an NCAA zone cut in the 3-meter and Wei (261.60) won the 1-meter event and narrowly missed qualifying for NCAA Zones.
