Adolfsson Named To Swedish Olympic Roster for 2022 Winter Olympics

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Former Penn State women's hockey student-athlete Jessica Adolfsson qualified for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games with Team Sweden after a 3-2 victory over France on Sunday, November 14, in a Olympic qualification tournament game played in Lulea, Sweden.
 
Adolfsson, who graduated from Penn State in Spring 2021, was officially named to the Swedish Olympic roster Wednesday, January 19, 2022, becoming Penn State women's hockey's first-ever student-athlete representative in the Olympics. 
 
The Linkoping, Sweden native has been rostered with the senior Swedish women's national team since 2016 and has played in two senior IIHF World Championships (2017 and 2019). She is also currently playing professionally in the SDHL for Linköping HC and was named an alternate captain.
 
Adolfsson had a great career with the Nittany Lions from 2018-21, tallying 25 points with nine goals in 69 career games on Penn State's blue line.
 
She made an immediate impact in her rookie season and was named the CHA All-Rookie Team in 2018-19. After a limited season due to injury in 2019-20, Adolfsson was a key contributor to Penn State's first CHA regular season championship team with 11 points in 21 games and was selected an All-CHA first-team performer.
 
Team Sweden will be featured in Group B in Beijing, along with Japan, Czech Republic, Denmark and China. Group A features USA, Canada, Finland, Russia and Switzerland.
