UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State track & field head coach John Gondak has announced the team's 2021-22 indoor meet schedule.
"We are very excited to get back to a normal racing schedule this season," Gondak said. "It will be exciting to compete against schools outside the Big Ten and travel to some new places like we are doing this year. Our schedule will set us up for success during championship time and our team is looking forward to show off all the training they have been doing this fall."
The Nittany Lions are slated to begin the season with the Bison Opener at Bucknell on Dec. 4 before heading into the holiday break. The team will open up the new year with three straight home meets at Penn State's Multi-Sport Facility & Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track, beginning with the Nittany Lion Challenge on Jan. 15.
Penn State will head on the road throughout the month of February with three straight weekends of split-squad meets. The series of meets will begin with trips to Winston Salem, N.C. and the New York Armory on Feb. 4 and 5 followed by meets at Vanderbilt and Boston University on Feb. 11 and 12. Regular season competition will conclude a week later with the Penn State Tune Up and the JDL DMR Invite in Winston Salem, N.C.
The Big Ten Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio on Feb. 25 and 26 and the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships will take place two weeks later in Birmingham, Ala. on March 10 and 11.
