Men's Volleyball Releases 2022 Schedule

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men's volleyball team has announced its 2022 schedule, featuring 10 non-conference battles in addition to the Nittany Lions' 16-match EIVA slate.
 
The Nittany Lions begin with a four-match homestand with a pair of two-match series at Rec Hall. The first series will be against BYU Jan. 6 and 8, with the second series pitting the Nittany Lions against Grand Canyon Jan. 13-15.
 
Penn State will then take on USC and UCLA in the B1G/Pac-12 Challenge at UCLA Jan. 21-22, followed by the Battle of the Bigs at UC Santa Barbara against the Gauchos and Long Beach State Jan. 28-29.
 
PSU's EIVA schedule begins the following week at home against Princeton and George Mason February 4-5, preceding league matches against Harvard, Sacred Heart, Saint Francis, St. Francis Brooklyn, NJIT, and Charleston through the rest of February and into the first week of March.
 
The Nittany Lions will play a home-and-home March 8 and 13 against traditional Big-Ten rival Ohio State, which will split the league schedule in half. Penn State will take on its eight EIVA opponents again from mid-March to mid-April before the beginning of the 2022 postseason.
 
The EIVA Tournament will be held April 20, 21, and 23 and will be hosted at the site of the regular season's top-seeded team. The winner of the tournament will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, which will be hosted by UCLA in Los Angeles in the first week of May.
 
Penn State is coming off a 16-4 season in 2021 which was highlighted by the Nittany Lions' 32nd EIVA Tournament title, an NCAA Tournament appearance, head coach Mark Pavlik's 600th career victory, and three AVCA and VolleyballMag.com All-America honors for Cole Bogner, Cal Fisher and Brett Wildman.

The Nittany Lions return its entire regular rotation of student-athletes from a season ago in addition to bringing in five first-year student-athletes to complete their 22-man roster.
