University Park, PA - On Saturday, 4 December at 3:00pm Penn State Men's Rugby will take on the likes of Queens University in the National Collegiate Rugby Championship Semi-final. The match will be hosted at Penn State Berks in Reading, PA.
It has been a season of high's and low's for the Nittany Lions in a very tough Rugby East conference, 2-3 this season and finishing in 4th place in the overall standings, even with a couple losses in conference play the team took on some non-conference opponents and came away with a few wins finishing with a record of 4-4 in season competition. These results, coupled with the strength of the Rugby East, gave the team the #2 Ranking in the NCR coaches polls and a match-up with Ivy League Champion Brown University in the quarterfinals. A hard fought victory that came down to the final minute set us on a collision course for Chesapeake #1 Queens University (6-0 Conference Play).
With a good mix of youth and experience the team has grown throughout the year and feel that they are in a good place heading into the weekend.
