Reedy Collects Two All-America Honors

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men's soccer student-athlete Pierre Reedy recently picked up two additional All-America honors to add to his long list of career accomplishments as a Nittany Lion. The redshirt senior midfielder was named a 2021 Second Team Academic All-American® by CoSIDA, his second-straight Academic All-American nod, as well as a 2021 Senior CLASS Award® Second Team All-American.

Reedy earned his second consecutive Academic All-American honor from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), this year on the second team. The Kutztown, Pa., native is one of 13 repeat selections after he collected first-team honors in 2020-21.

The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Reedy is only the third Nittany Lion all-time to garner two Academic All-America nods from CoSIDA, joining Conrad Taylor (2005, '06) and Ryan Badaracco (2006, '08).

The three-time team captain was among the 10 finalists for the Senior CLASS Award®, the first for the program since Jason Yeisley in 2009.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: classroom, community, character, and competition.

These awards mark the fourth and fifth All-America honors that Reedy has received in his collegiate career. He earned third team All-America honors and first team Scholar All-America honors from United Soccer Coaches in 2020-21, as well as a first-team nod as a CoSIDA Academic All-American.

Reedy closed his Nittany Lion career after six seasons on the team as a two-time Penn State graduate, double Big Ten Champion, five-time All-American, two-time All-Big Ten honoree, Big Ten Medal of Honor recipient, five-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, and two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.
