AGAINST THE WILDCATS
This will be Penn State's fourth all-time series against UNH. New Hampshire has taken 4 of the 6 games in their matchups. The Nittany Lions first met the Wildcats in a series on Oct, 26-27, 2013 where they dropped both games by scores of 3-1, and 8-5. Penn State split the series in their most recent matchup on Jan. 3-4, 2020. PSU took the first game by a score of 3-0 and lost the series finale 2-1.

In their most recent matchup at Pegula, the Nittany Lions won the first game of the series 3-0. Natalie Heising scored in that contest thanks to an assist by Amy Dobson and Izzy Heminger. In the second game of the series the Wildcats had scored first followed by a quick Penn State goal by Mallory Uihlein. It was the Wildcats that broke the tie in the second period. This was all they needed to win this nail biter 2-1.

LAST TIME OUT: D1 IN D.C.
The Nittany Lions earned a split at the D1 in D.C Nov. 26-27. They took on #7 Minnesota Duluth and came out victorious in a come-from-behind win against the Bulldogs. The Nittany Lions were not so fortunate in their second matchup in D.C as they took on #2 Ohio State. Penn State dopped that one 4-2.

In the UMD game, after a quick goal by Natalie Heising, the Bulldogs had back to-back goals bringing their lead to 2-1. However, thanks to a game-tying goal from Heising and game winner by Lyndie Lobdell, the Lions took down their first ranked opponent of the season.

In game two, the Buckeyes jumped out to an early lead and despite goals by Natalie Heising and Rene Gangarosa, it was not enough against the #2 ranked Buckeyes. Five of the six goals scored in the game were power-play goals.

RECEIVING VOTES AGAIN
The Nittany Lions are nearly back in the top 10 national polls after their D1 in D.C. weekend. They are receiving votes in both the USCHO.com poll and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Top 10 polls in each of the last two weeks.
