ESTERO, Fla. – The Penn State women's basketball program is set to play in the Gulf Coast Showcase November 26-28. The Nittany Lions are slated to open the three-day, eight-team tournament against St. John's on Friday, November 26 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
The November 26 matchup will be the first matchup in program history with the Red Storm.
"Since its inception, the Gulf Coast Showcase has attracted the very best in women's college basketball," said Women's Tournament Director and CBS/ESPN analyst Debbie Antonelli. "I fully expect to see six or seven teams in this year's field playing in the NCAA Tournament in March and our champion competing for a Final Four berth."
Other programs participating in the Gulf Coast Showcase include 2020-21 NCAA tournament participants UCLA, Iowa State and South Dakota State. Along with these tournament participants, UMass, Kent State and Charlotte round out the programs participating in the event.
