Penn State falls to Virginia Tech at Saturday's Meet

BLACKSBURG, Va - The Nittany Lions fell to the Hokies in a tough battle on Saturday morning. 

Top Swimmers:
Some of the standout swimmers for the men's team today were Michael Daly and Daniel Raisanen. In the 100 Yard Back, Daly came in second place with a time of 47.49. In the 200 Yard Back, Daly earned first place with a time of 1:43.17. In the 400 Yard IM, Daly came in second with a time of 3:52.95. 
 
In the 200 Yard Medley, the team of Will Roberson, Daniel Raisanen, Victor Baganha, and Jake Houck came in second place with a time of 1:26.40. In the 100 Yard Breast, Raisanen earned first place with a time of 53.69. In the 200 Yard Breast, Raisanen came in first place with a time of 1:56.83.
 
Second and third place finishers:
In the 200 Yard Free, Eduardo Moraes came in second place with a time of 1:37.13.
In the 200 Yard Fly, Carlos Vasquez earned third place with a time of 1:48.67.
In the 50 Yard Free, Baganha came in second place with a time of 19.90 
and following him was Houck with a time of 20.05. 
In the 100 Yard Free, Roberson came in second place with a time of 44.47. 
In the 500 Yard Free, Moraes came in second place with a time of 4:24.86. 
In the 100 Yard Fly, Baganha came in second place with a time of 46.89.
In the 200 Yard Free Relay, Penn State placed second with a time of 1:18.65. The contributors were Baganha, Roberson, Houck, and Tommy Hurley.
 
Diving: 
In the 1-meter dive, Kevin Sullivan came in second place with a score of 317.33. 
In the 3-meter dive, Jonah Cey came in second place with a score of 326.78. Following him in third place was Logan Krabbe with a score of 314.63.
 
What is next:
The Nittany Lions will host Villanova on Friday, January 28 at 5 p.m. for their final meet of the regular season. This will also be Senior Day and all 17 seniors will be recognized.
