UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State's Ethan Dick was named the Big Ten Gymnast of the Week on Monday after leading the Nittany Lions to the team title at the Navy Open on Saturday. The sophomore had two individual event wins on the day.
Each of Dick's event wins came with personal-best scores. He closed the meet with a 14.15 to take first on parallel bars, adding to his first-place finish on vault with a score of 14.35. His score on parallel bars is the fourth-best in the nation and the highest in the Big Ten this season.
Dick added a third-place finish on high bar during the meet in Annapolis. He helped Penn State win its second consecutive team title, adding to the first-place finish at the West Point Open the week before. The Lions are 10-0 after three competitions this season.
Up next for Penn State is a Big Ten meet against Illinois at Rec Hall on Saturday at 4 p.m. The meet is part of a double dual, going on at the same time as the Penn State women's gymnastics team's meet against the Illini.
