Penn State Has a Near Perfect First Day at Dual Series Hosted by Duke University

University Park, Pa. -  The Penn State men's fencing team concluded competitions Feb. 12 against Duke, North Carolina, Brandeis, Air Force, Johns Hopkins and Temple. The women will continue competitions on Sunday, Feb. 13.

The men's team won against Brandeis 25-2, Air Force 16-11, Boston College 14-1, and Johns Hopkins 18-9. They lost against Duke 18-9.

Against Brandeis, Penn State won 7 saber, 9 foil, and 9 epee bouts. In a close competition with Boston College, Penn State won 3 saber, 4 foil, and 7 epee bouts. Against Johns Hopkins, the Nittany Lions won 4 saber, 7 foil, and 7 epee bouts. Following this, they won 7 saber, 4 foil, and 5 epee bouts against the Air Force Academy.

The Nittany Lions will be back in action Feb. 18-21 at the Junior Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.
