Bogner Picks Up Conference and National Weekly Honors

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State senior setter Cole Bogner picked up two weekly honors from both the EIVA and Off the Block for his performance last Saturday against Saint Francis.

Boger was selected the EIVA Offensive Player of the Week and the Off the Block National Setter of the Week after a 41-assists performance in the Nittany Lions' 3-0 sweep of the Red Flash Saturday.

The Chesapeake, Va. native paced Penn State's offense to season-best .500 team hitting percentage. His 41 assists were tied for the fourth-most in a three-set match by DI-II men's volleyball player this season.

Bogner also stuffed the stat sheet with a kill, an ace, one block, and a pair of digs to help PSU take sole possession of first place in the conference.

The 2021 EIVA Player of the Year, Bogner is having another MVP-caliber season with a 10.58 assists-per-set rate, good for fourth best in the nation. He also has the Nittany Lions hitting .330 as a squad this season, tied for the fifth-best output in the nation.

This week's conference award is the third of his career and first this season. Bogner's OTB setter of the week honor is his second in 2022.

Bogner and the Nittany Lions get back to action in EIVA play this weekend with a trip to St. Francis Brooklyn and NJIT Friday and Saturday, Feb. 25-26.
