Penn State Breaks Two School Records on Day Three of Big Ten Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE, In. – The Penn State Men's Swimming & Diving team concluded their third day of individual competition of the Big Ten Championships. They broke two school records and seven swimmers made the NCAA B-cut. 
 
The Nittany Lions' ten top-24 finishes place them in 7th with 427 points as the third of four days of competition concludes at the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center in West Lafayette, Indiana.

 
In the 100 Fly, freshman Victor Baganha placed fifth with a time of 45.19 and broke the school record pf 46.00 seconds in 2013. His time made the NCAA B-cut. In the 400 IM, senior Michael Daly earned fourth place with a time of 3:42.49 which earned him an NCAA B-cut. This time was just short of Daly's current fastest time of 3:42.38, which he swam in 2019. Senior William Lulek came in 13th place in the 400 IM with a time of 3:49.72 which is an NCAA B-cut. 

In the 200 Free, freshman Eduardo Moraes placed 18th place with a time of 1:36.81. In the 100 Breast, junior Daniel Raisanen earned 5th place with a school record breaking time of 52.12, and he made the NCAA B-cut. He broke the school record of 53.21 in 2012. 


Nittany Lion Relays

In the 200 Free relay, Penn State finished with a time of 1:17.17 and earned the NCAA B-cut. Relay contributors are Baganha, grad student Will Roberson, sophomore Jake Houck and junior Zane Sutton. 
 

What is next
The men will continue competition on Saturday with prelims beginning at 10 a.m. ET/ 9 a.m. CT and finals starting at 5:30 p.m. ET/ 4:30 p.m. CT. All sessions can be streamed on BTN Plus while live stats and results are available HERE and on Meet Mobile.
