UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State men's basketball team fell to the Nebraska Cornhuskers at the Bryce Jordan Center on Sunday night by a score of 93-70 in the Nittany Lions' final regular-season home game of the year.
 
Junior Seth Lundy set a new career high with four steals in the contest and also tied Jalen Pickett and Sam Sessoms for the team lead in points with 12. Graduate student John Harrar finished with nine points and eight rebounds, including four offensive boards.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Penn State made its first five shots, three of which came from 3-point range, as the Nittany Lions jumped out to a 13-10 lead less than four minutes into the game.
  • The Huskers answered with an 11-0 run over the next three minutes to pull ahead 21-13.
  • Nebraska pulled ahead further, but a Sessoms driving layup had Penn State back within eight at 30-22 with 7:55 left in the first half. Nebraska closed the half on a 19-9 run, however, to take a 49-31 lead into the break.
  • Buckets from Sessoms and Pickett got Penn State on the board in the second half, but Nebraska's lead increased to 58-35 entering the first media break of the period.
  • Penn State continued to chip away, but failed to reel in Nebraska's big lead and ultimately fell 93-70.

 
GAME NOTES

  • The Nittany Lions finished with a season-high 10 steals on the night.
  • With their 10 steals in the game tonight, the Nittany Lions recorded 10 or more swipes in a contest for the first time since March 3, 2021, also against Nebraska.
  • Four Nittany Lions finished in double figures. Sessoms, Lundy, and Pickett led the way with 12 apiece while sophomore Dallion Johnson picked up 11 of his own.
  • With four steals in the contest, Seth Lundy set his new career high.
  • Greg Lee returned after missing the last six games due to injury, scoring five points in 12 minutes of play.
  • Andy Christos and Dan Conlan both made their third appearance of the season.


UP NEXT

  • Penn State plays the final two games of the regular season on the road before heading to Indianapolis for the Big Ten Tournament. The Nittany Lions begin the road stretch at #15 Illinois Thursday night at 7 p.m. on FS1.
