UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men's volleyball senior outside hitter Brett Wildman was tabbed the EIVA Offensive Player of the Week by the league office Monday afternoon.
The Virginia Beach native was Penn State's top offensive producer in the Nittany Lions' 2-0 weekend to begin EIVA play Feb. 4-5.
Wildman had a team-high nine kills to go with four blocks in Penn State's sweep of Princeton last Friday, followed by a 17-kill, .500 hitting percentage performance in another straight-sets win over George Mason Saturday night.
The conference weekly honor is the fourth of Wildman's career and he becomes the third Nittany Lion to win the honor this season after Sam Marsh and Toby Ezeonu.
Wildman has been hot of late for Penn State with 44 kills in his last three matches. He ranks second in the EIVA with 117 kills behind teammate Cal Fisher (129).
Wildman and the Nittany Lions take the court again this weekend in their New England road trip. They play at Harvard Friday night before facing Sacred Heart Saturday afternoon.
