UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State Nittany Lion field hockey team has set is schedule of spring contests for March and April. Head coach Char Morett-Curtiss' team will compete in eight games over five weekends beginning in late March.
The Nittany Lions will begin spring action in the state of Virginia, visiting Richmond on Saturday, March 26 (time TBA), and the University of Virginia on Sunday, March 27 at 11 a.m. The next weekend, the Nittany Lions head to College Park, Md., for two games at Maryland on Saturday, April 2. Penn State faces American at 1:45 p.m. and Maryland at 3 p.m.
Penn State heads to Philadelphia on Saturday, April 9, for two games against St. Joseph's and Lafayette beginning at 11 am. The next weekend, the Lions host Bucknell for a spring contest on Saturday, April 16, at 11 a.m. Penn State will close out the spring slate by hosting an Alumnae Game on Saturday, April 23, Blue-White Weekend, at 11 a.m.
The Nittany Lions ended the 2021 season with a 14-6 overall record, placed second in the Big Ten regular season with a 6-2 mark, advanced to the 2021Big Ten Tournament semifinals and earned a spot in the 2021 NCAA Championship Tournament.
