Penn State Celebrates Senior Night With Quad Meet at Rec Hall

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State women's gymnastics team wrapped up the home portion of its schedule with a Senior Night Quad Meet at Rec Hall on Saturday.
 
The Nittany Lions placed second on the night with a team score of 195.225, upsetting No. 21 Southern Utah.
 
The day started on vault, where the team posted a 48.950 score. Senior Lauren Bridgens shared the team lead with a 9.825 score.
 
On bars, Cassidy Rushlow recorded her first 9.9 score of the year to place second in the event. Senior Alissa Bonsall recorded a 9.850 in her final appearance in Rec Hall.
 
Making her competition debut on her senior night, Dymiana Cox recorded a 9.750 on beam in a special moment in her final home meet. Freshman Isabella Salcedo led the Nittany Lions with a 9.825.
 
The night ended on floor,, where the Nittany Lions recorded their best score of the night with a 49.275. Isabella Salcedo added another big performance with her second 9.925 score this year. Bridgens and Rushlow recorded matching 9.875 scores. Senior Melissa Astarita continued her long run of 9.8+ scores with a 9.80 in her final home meet.
 
After the meet, the team honored its six-member senior class of Melissa Astarita, Alissa Bonsall, Lauren Bridgens, Kourtney Chinnery, Dymiana Cox and Donna Howell.
