Women's Rugby Announces Spring Schedule and Captains

University Park, PA- Monday February 28th, Penn State Women looks forward to challenging championship spring season.

For the first time since spring of 2019 Penn State Rugbywill enjoy a full uninterrupted championship spring!  This follows the first fall season since fall of 2019 and the teams transition to the Blue Ridge Mountain Conference. The spring championship run will be led by Senior Natalie Bjorklund as Captain and supported by Co-Forward Selectors, 5th year Corina Kaiser and Junior Ayla Bleznak and Back Selector Junior Kat von Abo.

The team builds towards April 16th and the CRAA D1 Elite National Semifinals where they will take on the Life Running Eagles or the Lindenwood Lions.  Winning that contest will advance the team to the CRAA D1 Elite National Championship on April 30th in Houston, TX at Aviva stadium while a loss will see the team transition to 7s.  The 7s competition includes National Collegiate Championship Rugby 7s (NCCR7s) May 14-15 in Atlanta, GA and the National Collegiate Rugby CRC 7s (NCR CRC 7s) being played in New Orleans, LA May 27-29.
 

The team kicked off the season away against Navy on February 26th and will see a return of spring break as they head to the West Coast to take on UC Santa Barbara on Tuesday March 8th at 4pm PST.  On return from spring break the team has several challenging games in prep for April 16th playoffs including NYRC Women, Nova Women, Notre Dame College and the Pittsburgh Forge.
