A LOOK BACK AT THE PSU QUAD MEET

The Nittany Lions 196.550 score was the team's best score of the season and its highest since the Penn State Quad Meet in February 2020, beating the previous season-high of 196.425 from their meet at Ohio State. It is also the team's best score in a road meet since the BYU Quad Meet in March 2018. Nittany Lions earned individual event victories in three out of four events.

The day started on bars, where fifth-year senior Alissa Bonsall opened her final regular season meet by tying her career high with a 9.950 on bars. It earned Bonsall her third event victory of the season and led the Nittany Lions to a 49.225 on the apparatus.

The Nittany Lions followed with their best performance of the season on beam, recording a 49.050 score. Competing on beam for the first time since Jan.7, Cassidy Rushlow posted Penn State's first 9.9 score on the apparatus this season. She's recorded 9.9 scores in back-to-back meets after her performance last week on bars.

The success continued onto floor, where Penn State once again reached the 49.0 mark with a Freshman Isabella Salcedo recorded her sixth 9.9 score of the season, recording a new career-high with a 9.950 score to win the event. The score ties for fifth in Penn State history. Lauren Bridgens also posted a big score in her final regular season meet, matching her season-high with a 9.925.

The team closed out its season-best performance with its fourth 49+ score of the afternoon, recording a 49.025. Jessica Johanson led the team with a 9.850 score to earn a share of the event win.

RACKING UP THE 9.9s

The Nittany Lions have added 20 additions to their 9.9 wall, with Isabella Salcedo recording six 9.9 scores, Lauren Bridgens earning five 9.9 scores, Alissa Bonsall earning three and Cassidy Rushlow earning two. Kourtney Chinnery (vault), Nikki Beckwith (bars), Jessica Johanson (vault) and have each recorded one 9.9 score.

A HISTORIC CAREER

Senior Lauren Bridgens earned her fourth career All-Big Ten honor when the conference announced its postseason honorees earlier this week. After missing the 2021 season with an Achilles injury, Bridgens elected to return for a fifth season and she quickly returned to form. She has recorded five 9.9+ scores thus far this season, including two season-best 9.925 scores on bars. She has claimed nine event titles this season, extending her career total to 43. She is one of only nine Nittany Lions in history to claim three First Team All-Big Ten honors and still holds the honor as the only Penn Stater to record a perfect 10.0 score on bars.
