Nittany Lion Grace Wallis Named to USA Field Hockey’s Women's National Development Team

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (editorial information courtesy USA Field Hockey) – Penn State Nittany Lion field hockey player Grace Wallis (Blue Bell, Pa.) has been named to the USA Field Hockey Women's National Development Team.  Wallis, a senior this year, becomes the second Nittany Lion to be selected, joining teammate Brie Barraco.

Following a Training Camp from February 23 to 27 in Chula Vista, Calif., the women's Junior High Performance Staff added two to the U.S. Women's National Development Team, one of which was Wallis. These athletes were unable to attend the initial Selection Camp due to injury or travel restrictions and received an additional trial.

Wallis has 12 points on three goals and six assists for her career and played a crucial role in Penn State's advancement to the NCAA tournament this season. In addition to Wallis and Barraco's inclusion on the Development Team, Nittany Lion Mackenzie Allessie was named to the U-21 National Team earlier this winter.

The Nittany Lions ended the season with a 14-6 overall record, placed second in the Big Ten regular season with a 6-2 mark, advanced to the 2021Big Ten Tournament semifinals and earned a spot in the 2021 NCAA Championship Tournament.
