Peden Named Big Ten Freshman of the Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State's Will Peden was named the Big Ten Men's Lacrosse Freshman of the Week on Tuesday. He is the fourth different Penn State player to earn the award this season.
 
Peden joins Nils Barry, Jeb Brenfleck, and Ethan Long as Nittany Lions to win the Freshman of the Week award this season. Penn State has won six Big Ten weekly awards total, with Brayden Peck receiving a Defensive Player of the Week honor and Aleric Fyock earning a Specialist of the Week accolade.
 
Peden scored a pair of goals against Maryland, which is undefeated and ranked No. 1 in the nation, in a game that aired live on Big Ten Network on Sunday night. He added three ground balls.
 
Through nine games, Peden ranks 10th in the Big Ten in assists/game at 1.56 and first on the team in total assists with 14. He is second on the team with 22 points.
