Colleton River Collegiate Results
BLUFFTON, S.C. – The Penn State men's golf team fired a 5-under, 283, in Tuesday's final round of the Colleton River Collegiate at Colleton River Club's Nicklaus Course.
The strong final round was an 11-stroke improvement from Monday's second-round score of 294, and a 17-stroke improvement from the opening round mark of 300. Penn State finished the tournament in 12th place in the 15-team field at 13-over, 877.
Graduate student Lou Olsakovsky notched his fifth top-15 finish of the 2021-22 season, finishing tied for 12th at 5-under, 211. He capped off his strong overall tournament with a 3-under, 69, in Tuesday's final round.
Freshman Morgan Lofland turned in one of the best rounds of the day for the Nittany Lions, shooting 3-under, 69. Lofland carded five birdies in the final round, four of which came on the first nine holes. Lofland finished the 54-hole tournament at 9-over, 225, to place tied for 56th.
Junior Patrick Sheehan carded an even 72 Tuesday to also finish tied for 56th at 9-over, 225. Junior Jimmy Meyers carded his best round of the event Tuesday, firing a 1-over, 73, in the final round to finish in 63rd place at 10-over, 226. Sophomore James Allen finished tied for 70th at 13-over, 229.
Penn State returns to action next weekend at the General Hackler Championship in Myrtle Beach. Tournament action is set for Sunday and Monday.
