Wildman Tabbed EIVA Offensive Player of the Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State men's volleyball senior Brett Wildman was selected this week's EIVA Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

The senior outside hitter powered Penn State's offense to a 3-0 sweep of Saint Francis on the road Saturday, April 2. Wildman ripped a career-best seven service aces, including a stretch of four in a row to begin the third set. He also added a match-best 12 kills hitting .550 (12-1-20) in the win.

With the win, Penn State clinched its 35th EIVA regular season title thanks to the win and will host the 2022 EIVA Tournament April 20-23 at Rec Hall. As the league's top seed, PSU has a bye to the semifinal round.

Wildman's seven aces shattered his previous high of four in a match and he is now up to 122 career aces, which is sixth-most in program history. He has been particularly hot from the service line in the last six matches with 18 aces.

The Virginia Beach native also has six matches this season with double-digit kills and at least a .500 hitting percentage. His 259 kills in 2022 leads the NIttany Lions and surpassed his previous single-season best of 250 in 2020.

Wildman is also hitting .348 for the season which is on pace for his best percentage in his career.

Wildman and the third-ranked Nittany Lions wrap up their regular season home slate with matches this Friday and Saturday, April 8-9, against Saint Francis Brooklyn and NJIT.
