Dupcak, O'Neill Receive IWLCA All-Region Honors

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State women's lacrosse team earned two spots on the IWLCA West/Midwest All-Region teams on Thursday. 
 
Sophomore midfielder Kristin O'Neill was named First Team All-Region while sophomore defender Sammy Dupcak was tabbed Second Team All-Region. 
 
Penn State has 58 All-Region selections since 2005, including 39 First Team honorees.
 
Both O'Neill and Dupcak were recently tabbed All-Big Ten selections, with O'Neill receiving First Team and Dupcak Second Team honors.
 
Kristin O'Neill, Midfield, So. – First Team
O'Neill picked up her first career All-Region honor and her second All-Big Ten accolade this season. She was designated Second Team All-Big Ten last season and took the conference's Freshman of the Year honor. O'Neill continued to have a major impact in her second season in Happy Valley. The Maryland native led the team with 51 points on 39 goals and 12 assists. 28 of her points were scored against ranked opponents. She had 13 multi-goal games in 2022 and closed out the season with four hat tricks in a row. She also had a team-best 22 caused turnovers.
 
Sammy Dupcak, Defense, So. – Second Team
Dupcak earned her first career All-Region and All-Big Ten honors after a great sophomore campaign on defense. She was one of the Nittany Lion's top defensive matchups this year, leading the team with 40 ground balls. She caused 14 turnovers on the season including a career high four caused turnovers against Johns Hopkins. The Annapolis, Maryland native played a big role in the draw control game winning 35 draws in 2022. She also tallied an assist in games vs. Saint Joseph's and Ohio State.
