UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State baseball's series opener against Illinois, on Thursday, May 19, has been selected for a Big Ten Network broadcast. The first pitch time has been moved up to 5 p.m. at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.
The series continues on Friday at 6 p.m. and concludes on Sunday at 1 p.m. as Penn State plays its final regular season series.
Thursday's game will be Throwback Thursday. Friday is Bark in the Park night and Saturday is Senior Day, featuring a postgame ceremony. Tickets can be purchased here.
Penn State, led by head coach Rob Cooper, enters the week with a 24-24 overall record, including 11-10 in the Big Ten.
The Nittany Lions currently sit fifth in the tight Big Ten standings, right behind Illinois (28-20 overall, 14-7 Big Ten) and in front of Michigan (25-24, 10-11), Indiana (24-27, 10-11) and Purdue (29-17, 9-10).
With at least one win in the series or one loss by Northwestern (22-25, 8-13) and Nebraska (20-29, 8-13) this weekend, Penn State can clinch a spot in the Big Ten Tournament.
