Bothun Invited to 2022 USA National Goaltending Camp

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Penn State goaltender Josie Bothun is one of 29 American men's and women's goaltenders invited to the 2022 USA National Goaltending Camp as announced by USA Hockey Monday.
 
The camp will be held May 19-22 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan. The four-day camp will consist of on-ice training, skill development, video analysis and team building activities that will allow goaltenders to grow their game, compete with peers, self-evaluate, and learn from an experienced camp staff.
 
Bothun has experience with USA Hockey already as she was invited to the USA Hockey High Performance Goaltending Camp in 2021.
 
The Wyoming, Minn. native has reset the Penn State goaltending record books through her two seasons with the Nittany Lions.
 
Through 55 career starts, Bothun has set program records in wins with 34 and shutouts with 13. She also has a 1.59 goals-against average which is also stands as a program best while also sporting a .931 save percentage.
 
In 2021-22 Bothun set single-season program highs with 18 victories and seven shutouts while also being named CHA Goaltender of the Week seven times. Her seven shutouts ranked second nationally.
 
In her freshman season in 2020-21, Bothun was named the USCHO.com National Rookie of the Year and CHA Goaltender of the Year, both firsts for Penn State, after a 16-3-2 season. She was a top-three finalist for the HCA Goaltender of the Year award in her first season and a semifinalist for the national award in 2021-22.
