2022-23 CHA Composite Schedule
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State women's hockey program has unveiled its 34-game schedule for the 2022-23 season Wednesday afternoon per the College Hockey America's league-wide schedule announcement.
The Nittany Lions, coming off a program-record 18-win season, will play a challenging nonconference slate featuring five 2022 NCAA Tournament teams, including hosting traditional Big Ten opponent Wisconsin at Pegula Ice Arena for the first time. Penn State will also take on traditional Big Ten opponent Minnesota in a four-team Las Vegas tournament in late November.
Penn State will also play traditional 16 games against CHA foes Syracuse, Mercyhurst, Lindenwood and RIT with 10 of those games finishing the regular season.
The 2023 CHA Postseason will open with a pair of best-of-three semifinal series with the No. 1 seed hosting the No. 4 seed and the No. 2 seed hosting the No. 3 seed Feb. 24-26.
The CHA postseason will conclude the weekend of March 3-4 when the two semifinal winners meet at the home of the highest-seeded semifinal winner for one game to determine CHA's 2023 postseason champion. Date and time for the championship game that weekend are to be determined.
Penn State Schedule Notes
- 34 regular-season games, including 18 home games at Pegula Ice Arena
- At least 12 (potentially 13) games against six 2022 NCAA Tournament teams (Wisconsin, Minnesota-Duluth, Colgate, Yale, Minnesota, and Syracuse)
- Season-opening series vs. Wisconsin Thursday and Friday, Sept. 22-23, the first games at Pegula Ice Arena between the traditional Big Ten rivals
- Neutral-site game vs. 2022 NCAA runners-up Minnesota-Duluth at St. Lawrence Sept. 30 before playing the Saints the next day, Oct. 1
- Hosting Colgate Oct. 7-8, its first matchup against the Raiders since picking up the highest-ranked win in program history in 2018
- Traveling to Boston College Oct. 14-15 for first-ever road matchup against the Eagles
- Home nonconference series against Franklin Pierce (first-ever matchup), Brown, and LIU
- Road series against Yale, a 2022 Frozen Four program, Nov. 18-19
- Las Vegas showcase tournament with a guaranteed game against traditional Big Ten opponent Minnesota Nov. 25 before playing either Yale or Boston University Nov. 26
- Sixteen CHA conference games with home and away series against Lindenwood, Mercyhurst, Syracuse, and RIT

The Nittany Lions are coming off a program-record 18-win season with a roster featuring seven returning All-CHA honorees, including 2021-22 winners Rene Gangarosa, Karley Garcia, Mallory Uihlein and Kiara Zanon. The Nittany Lions have won 34 games over its past two seasons, the program's most wins over a two-season stretch in program history.
