Byrne, Jack and Carson Turn in Top Personal Times at U.S. National Championships

IRVINE, Calif. – Penn State swimmers Lachlan Byrne, Olivia Jack and Molly Carson each competed at the 2022 Phillips 66 National Championships this weekend at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center. All three turned in personal record times in multiple events.
 
Byrne, a rising senior, registered 26th place in the 100 Back (55.92) and 31st in the 200 Back (2:03.64), both personal-bests. In time trials, he clocked in at 26.13 in the 50 Back and set another personal record in the 100 Free with 51.16.
 
A returning senior, Jack made new personal records in the 50 Free (26.59) and 50 Breast (33.38) in time trials. She also registered 45th place in the 100 Breast at 1:15.21.
 
Carson, a rising sophomore, put together her two best times in the 50 Back (30.20) in a time trial and 100 Back (1:03.80) for 52nd place.
