Six Penn State Athletes Will Compete at the U.S. Championships

TAMPA, Fla.- Penn State Men's Gymnastics will be represented by six student-athletes in Tampa Fla. this weekend at the U.S. Championships. The six athletes qualified at the U.S. Classic in Salt Lake City, Utah two weeks ago. 
 
The event serves as a qualifying competition for the U.S. Senior National and Development team. Fifteen athletes will be selected for the National Team and and five for the Development Team. 
 
The competition begins on Thursday, Aug. 18 with the first round of events and the second day will be on Saturday, Aug. 20. The scorers will combine the all-around results with the 10-point system after the two days of the competition. 
 
The Nittany Lions competing at the national event are freshmen Will Fleck and Caleb Melton, sophomores Matt Cormier and Josh Karnes, junior Michael Artlip and alumni Stephen Nedoroscik.
