University Park, PA – The Penn State Men's rugby team hosted Kutztown this past weekend in round 2 of Rugby East competition. It was not the Lion's day and we fell 31-17 to a strong Kutztown team.
There were certainly some bright spots on the day with 1st Year players Harry Montague and Nicholas Bruno getting their first starts for the Lions and playing well. Harry had a few good carries and was very disruptive for the Bears in the Lineout. Nick played well and broke the line a few times to create some pressure for the Lions and get us on the front foot.
Overall top performer for the Match was Ian Roudybush, Ian has put in two strong performances over the last two matches and continues to impress his teammates and coaches.
The team will have a quick turnaround this week as we host Mount St. Mary's Friday, 23 September at 5:00pm.
