Evans Tabbed as Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA.- Penn State men's soccer junior midfielder, Tyger Evans was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week after his goal and two assists in two games last week.

Evans had a big performance against two ranked opponents this past week. Against No. 9 Maryland on Tuesday (Sept. 20), Evans assisted Peter Mangione on the go-ahead goal for Penn State. He sent the ball to Mangione who moved it down the field and into the net from outside the box. This goal marked a Penn State lead for the first time in the game, giving them the edge going into the second half.

He scored a goal of his own on a penalty kick to tie the game at 3-3. This was his first goal of the season fourth of his career.

In the match against No. 15 Akron on Sunday (Sept. 25), he assisted Liam Butts on the eventual game-winning goal. Tyger dribbled the ball down the left side of the field and launched it in the air to Butts who headed it in the goal.
