CARY, N.C. – Sofiya Chekhlystova found success on the second day of the pre-qualifying round of the ITA All-American Championships on Sunday.
Chekhlystova defeated Arizona's Midori Castillo, 6-2, 6-4. She moved on to the third round of pre-qualifying singles and won her match against Virginia's Sara Ziodato, 7-5, 6-4.
Chekhlystova advances on to the qualifying round of the tournament. She will compete against Duke's Brianna Shvets on Monday at 11 a.m.
Yvonne Zuffova's consolation match against Texas' Vivian Ovrootsky was postponed to Monday at 11 a.m. due to rain.
