No. 11/13 Women's Hockey Travel to No. 14/15 Boston College

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The No. 11/13 Penn State women's hockey team hits the road to begin a two-game road swing at Boston College Friday at 6 p.m.

THIS WEEK'S MATCHUP

  • The last time the Nittany Lions faced Boston College came on Oct. 1., 2021 as the Eagles defeated the Nittany Lions 2-1.
  • The Eagles currently lead the series 2-0. The first time the Eagles faced Penn State was just a lone year ago in 2021.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES

  • The Boston College Eagles are 3-1-0 after a two-game sweep of Hockey East rival Merrimack. 
  • Moved up two spots in the USCHO.com poll to No. 14 and moved up one spot to No. 15 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine National Poll.  
  • Hannah Bilka was named Hockey East Player of the Week after she scored her 40th career goal against Merrimack.
  • Bilka also leads the team in points this season with 3-4-7.
  • Abigail Levy is the top netminder holding a record of 2-1-0 with a GAA of 2.00 and save percentage of .936.

DEFENSE TO OFFENSE

  • Junior defenseman Lyndie Lobdell tallied her first goal of the season in Saturday's 2-1 loss to Colgate.
  • She is the lone Nittany Lion defenseman to score a goal this season.
  • Her play against the Raiders earned her first CHA Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season on Monday. 

SAVES ALL AROUND

  • The Nittany Lions currently rank third in the nation in team saves this season at 181. 
  • Goalie Josie Bothun has been the lead saves leader as she ranks third in program history in career saves with 1315. 
  • This season, she has tallied 175 saves on the year as she tallied a season high 37 saves on Saturday against Colgate. 

FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING

  • Nittany Lion freshman forward Katelyn Roberts tallied her first collegiate goal in Friday's 3-2 loss to Colgate. 
  • On the year, Roberts has tallied 1-1-2 in her first season at Penn State. 

NEXT UP 

  • The Nittany Lions return to Pegula Ice Arena to host Franklin Pierce for a two-game set beginning Sunday, Oct. 23 at 2 p.m.
