Asman Earns Weekly B1G Nod

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Redshirt senior Katherine Asman has been named the Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week announced by the conference on Tuesday.

The Roswell, Georgia native had back-to-back clean sheet performances in the Nittany Lions' 3-0 win versus Wisconsin and 3-0 win over Michigan last week.

It marked her third shutout in a row following PSU's 2-0 victory at Maryland a week ago. She now has seven clean sheets this season including two combined shutouts with fellow PSU keeper senior+ Morgan Messner.

On Thursday versus Wisconsin, Asman saved both shots on goal by the Badgers, and on Sunday against the Wolverines, she made four saves.

The Goalkeeper of the Week honor is Asman's second of the season and the fourth of her career.

She collected her first weekly honor this season on Sept. 27 after Penn State shut out No. 4 Rutgers and Illinois.

The Roswell, Ga. native made six saves against Rutgers and helped the Nittany Lions spoil the Scarlet Knights' perfect 9-0 record. She followed up with three saves against Illinois.

Asman has started all 15 games in net for the Nittany Lions this season and holds an .823 save percentage.

Penn State women's soccer now has six B1G Player of the Week honorees this season.
