Penn State Introduces Synchronized Cell Phone Light Show this Saturday

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State is encouraging fans to download the Official Penn State Athletics app ahead of the Penn State White Out game this Saturday, Oct. 22 for a synchronized cellphone light show.

Already the Greatest Show in College Sports, the synchronized light show will be another way for fans to impact the atmosphere during the White Out Game. Cellphone lights will sync together during the pregame intro video at 6:00 minutes on the pregame clock to create a one-of-a-kind experience.

Before game day, through the Official Penn State Athletics App, click LIONS LIGHTS on the bottom right side of the screen. Alternatively, this can also be selected through the menu option. Fans must allow the app access to their cellphone microphone and camera. When fans see the "waiting to sync" message on the screen, your phone is ready for game day!

On game day, there will be in-stadium prompts which will ask fans to open the app and click LIONS LIGHTS for the pregame intro video, around 6:00 left on the pregame clock.

This feature through the Official Penn State Athletics app does not require a Wi-Fi connection. Fans can find a full list of instructions along with a video on how to participate in the light show here.

A warning to any fans with light sensitivity that strobing effects will be used during the light show.

The 2022 Penn State football season is presented by PSECU.
