UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Penn State men's soccer has five student athletes that have been selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team. Graduate student Seth Kuhn, seniors Liam Butts, Andrew Privett and Alex Stevenson and junior Peter Mangione all received the honor.
Butts is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree. In 2020-21, he was selected as a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar. Butts is majoring in kinesiology.
Kuhn earned is undergraduate degree in communication arts and sciences and is now attending graduate school after being selected 73rd overall by the New York Red Bulls in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft. Last season he earned first team Scholar All-East Region honors from United Soccer Coaches and is a two-time Academic-All Big Ten honoree.
Mangione is a two-time first team All-Big Ten team member. He also garnered Academic All-Big Ten honors last season. Mangione is majoring in political science.
Privett is a senior majoring in supply chain and information systems. He is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten recipient and earned second team All-East Region honors from United Soccer Coaches last season.
Stevenson is a senior computer science major. He earned Academic All-Big Ten honors his sophomore and junior year. Also in his sophomore year, he was named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District members are selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December.
