UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State women's lacrosse announces its 2023 schedule. The Nittany Lions will play 16 games including nine home games. They will face six teams who made it to the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
Penn State will open its regular seasons late with five consecutive home games. All of the first five will be out of conference opponents including Bucknell, Drexel, Duquesne, Arizona State and Loyola.
The Nittany Lions travel to Nashville, Tenn. to take on both Vanderbilt and Rutgers in a three-team tournament. Rutgers will be their first conference opponent of the campaign
The team returns home in March to host Towson for their mid-week Hair Havoc game.
After two road games at Princeton and Pittsburgh, Penn State will host Ohio State oin March 25 for alumni and senior day.
The Nittany Lions will have a tough road battle at Northwestern, the fourth ranked team at the end of the 2022 season, to finish out the month of March.
Penn State will have its first ever Morgan's Message game on April 2 when it hosts Cornell. Sophomore goalie Ashley Bowan is the ambassador for the Morgan's Message program at Penn State in its inaugural year on campus.
The Nittany Lions will face two final Big Ten teams in the regular season. On April 8 they will take on Michigan in Ann Arbor and then return home for the final regular season home game of the year against Maryland. The Terps finished the 2022 season ranked third in the country.
Penn State concludes the regular season on the road at Johns Hopkins, who finished 16th last season, on April 22.
The Big Ten semifinals will be on Saturday, April 29 and the finals will take place on Saturday, May 6.
