Nittany Lions Cap off Dual Tournament at Sacred Heart University 
The Penn State Men's and Women's fencing teams bode well in weekend Traditions Tournament 
 
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men's and women's fencing teams ventured to Fairfield, Conn. for Sacred Heart University's Traditions Tournament this past weekend. The women went 5-1, topping Vassar, SHU, NJIT, Harvard and NYU. The men beat NJIT, SHU and Vassar to go 3-3 on the weekend. 

Top performers from the women's team were Arianna Proietti, Kateryna Chorniy and Ola Strzalkowski. Proietti led the team going 14-1 in foil, with Chorniy finishing 10-2 in epee and Strzalkowski 10-7 in sabre. 
 
For the men's team, sophomore Mitchel Bekker finished 6-1 in epee. In his first meet of the year, Nicholaus Zielinski topped the Penn State sabre squad going 9-5, and Arwen Borowiak led men's foil with a 13-4 finish. 
 
Select Nittany Lion fencers will be traveling to Salt Lake City, Utah for the Division 1/Junior/Cadet Olympic Trials from Friday, Dec. 9th through Monday, Dec. 12th.
