Nittany Lion Fencers Head to Salt Lake City for December North American Cup (NAC)
Series of Olympic Qualifying Events Continue Friday
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Select fencers from the Penn State men's and women's fencing teams will be traveling to Salt Lake City, Utah for the December North American Cup (NAC). The event will take place at the Salt Palace Convention Center Dec. 9-12, 2022 as part of a series of Olympic qualifying events.
With action beginning as early as Friday, competing in men's epee will be Devin Tafoya, Jonathan Piskovatskov, and Vasil Ivakimov.
Men's foil will take place on Saturday, with Donavyn Martinez, Caiden Cannon and Pablo Giraldo representing Penn State. Ola Strzalkowski will also participate in women's sabre Saturday afternoon.
Freshman Neil Lilov will wait to compete in men's sabre until Monday morning.
