Penn State Alumni Jessica Adolfsson Competes for Team Sweden in the IIHF World Championships

FREDERIKSHAVN, Denmark – Penn State women's hockey alum, Jessica Adolfsson (2018-21), is currently competing in the 2022 IIHF World Championships for team Sweden.

The former Penn State standout became the first Olympian in Penn State women's hockey history this past winter. She played for her native Sweden in the 2022 Bejing Winter Olympics.

During her time in Happy Valley, Adolfsson became just the second defender to be named to the All-CHA First Team. The blueliner helped lead the Nittany Lions to their only first-place CHA finish in program history during the 2020-21 regular season with four goals and seven assists. She finished her career in blue and white with 26 points, tied for sixth on Penn State's all-time scoring list among defensemen.

Sweden finished second in Group B in the preliminary round with three wins and one loss, which helped earn them a spot in the quarterfinals. Adolfsson and her team look to face Canada on Sept. 1 at 2 p.m EST.
