UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Penn State women's ice hockey goaltender Josie Bothun was named to the 2023 Hockey Commissioners Association National Women's Goalie of the Year watch list as announced by the association on Wednesday.
The conference offices come up with this initial "Watch List" of goalies from across division one programs. A committee of voters — made up of a cross section of coaches, administrators, and media — will ultimately choose the winner who will be announced in March during the NCAA Frozen Four.
Bothun was one of 27 women's ice hockey goaltenders nationally who were named to the list and one of four from College Hockey America. This is the second straight year Bothun has been named to the list.
This season, the Wyoming, Minn. native has posted a 14-8-1 record with four shutouts while recording a save percentage of .918 and GAA of 2.04.
Bothun and the rest of the Nittany Lions return to action on Friday, Jan. 13 when they host RIT. Puck-drop is set for 6 p.m.
