Penn State falls at Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. — In Big Ten road action, the Lady Lions (11-6, 2-4) dropped a 80-51 contest to Nebraska (11-6, 3-3) at Pinnacle Bank Arena Wednesday night.

Makenna Marisa led Penn State with 14 points. On the defensive side Chanaya Pinto produced a career-high six steals.

Nebraska jumped ahead in the first half by 21 points, but with under four minutes to go the Lady Lions went on a 11-0 run capped by a Shay Ciezki three-pointer.

The Blue and White did make 10 steals and force 13 Nebraska turnovers, cashing the miscues in for 15 points.

The Cornhuskers built their lead back up in the second half and maintained the advantage until the buzzer.

  • Marisa and Anna Camden made their 100th career appearances.
  • Pinto career-high steals
  • Leilani Kapinus made the 100th free throw of her career.
  • With 10 points, Taniyah Thompson has 67 career games (five at PSU) in double figures.
  • Ciezki now has 10 games in double digits this season with 10 points as well.
  • For the 10th game this season and the 4th time in Big Ten action, the Lady Lions forced 20+ turnovers.
