UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Junior goaltender Liam Souliere (Brampton, Ontario) has been named to the Watch List for the 2023 Mike Richter Award as announced by the Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA) on Thursday.
The award is presented annually to the top goalie in men's NCAA Division I hockey since 2014.
Souliere has started 20 games so far this season posting a 15-4-0 record with a 2.10 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage. The junior currently leads the Big Ten and ranks second in the nation with his 15 wins, a mark good for the fifth-most in a single-season in Penn State history.
His 2.10 goals-against average is second in the conference and ranks 12th in the nation while his .923 save percentage is also tied for second in the Big Ten and 10th in the nation.
Souliere and the Nittany Lions are back on the ice this weekend as they resume Big Ten play with a pair of games at No. 17 Michigan State.
