UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The No. 12/11 ranked Penn State women's ice hockey team drew to a 2-2 tie against RIT on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- RIT scored the opening goal of the game with 8:05 remaining in the first period coming off the stick of Jordyn Bear to put the Tigers ahead 1-0.
- The Nittany Lions answered in the second period with a pair of goals from Tessa Janecke and Kiara Zanon with 19:37 and 5:14 remaining in the period to put Penn State ahead 2-1.
- RIT had the last word as Athena Vasdani tied the game up at 2-2 with 8:56 remaining in the period to result in the 2-2 tie.
GOALTENDING
- Goalie Katie DeSa stopped 11 shots on 13 shots and allowed two goals.
GAME NOTES AND STATS
- Kiara Zanon tallied her tenth multi-point game with one goal and one assist.
- Tessa Janecke currently stands on a six-game point streak.
- This is the Nittany Lions second tie of the year and sixth all-time against RIT.
- Penn State fired off 41 shots while holding RIT to just 13.
