Nittany Lions Close Out Penn State Duals in Multi-Sport Facility

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men's and women's fencing teams held their last home meet in the Multi-Sport facility on Sunday, January 15th. Seniors were honored with a celebratory ceremony before the "Match of the Day" versus Duke. 
 
The men beat UPenn 20-7, Duke 15-12, Yale 14-13 and Haverford 24-3, falling short to only Columbia 20-7 and North Carolina 15-12. The women also beat Haverford 24-3, Temple 14-13, North Carolina 18-9, Duke 17-10, and were unable to top Columbia and Yale. 
 
Ryan Griffiths, Jonathan Piskovatskov, Halah Keramane, Axelle Wasiak, Clement Perrier, Devin Tafoya, and Savi Chilana were honored for Senior Day, presented by the Penn State Alumni Association.  
 
Leading the lions today was Wasiak, who went 18-3, and Griffiths, who went 13-2. 
 
Next Saturday, January 21st, the Penn State men's and women's fencing teams will travel to St. John's University to face Harvard, Columbia, Notre Dame and Ohio State.
