Zanon Captures Third CHA Forward of the Week Honor

WINTHROP, Mass.- Penn State women's ice hockey junior forward Kiara Zanon was named College Hockey America Forward of the Week on Monday.

Zanon tallied three goals and one assist against RIT this past week. In game one of the series, she tacked on two back-to-back short-handed goals as she captured her 100th career-point in the opening goal. Her 100th point marks Zanon as the fastest Nittany Lion in program history to do so. She is also the first Nittany Lion in program history to score two short-handed goals in one game. The Fairport, N.Y. native currently leads the Nittany Lions with 34 points off 17 goals and 17 assists. This is Zanon's third CHA weekly award honor of the year.

Zanon and the rest of the Nittany Lions return to action on Sunday, January 22 when they begin a two-game series at Mercyhurst. Puck-drop is set for 5 p.m.
