CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Makenna Marisa became the 10th-highest scorer in Lady Lions' history (1,735 career points) as Penn State women's basketball (13-14, 4-12) fell 85-62 to RV/RV Illinois (20-7, 10-6) Sunday afternoon at State Farm Center. Marisa's ninth of her 18 points allowed her to surpass Angie Potthoff (1993-97, 1,725 points).
Illinois scored the first seven points of the game and never trailed. Shay Ciezki hit two three's as the Fighting Illini led 27-19 at the end of the first quarter.
A 48-31 lead was taken into halftime by Illinois. Leilani Kapinus had nine of the 12 points for the Lady Lions in the second quarter, including seven made free throws.
After Marisa made a three-pointer on the first possession of the second half to become the 10th-best scorer in program history, Illinois went on a 21-2 run to push the game out of reach for Penn State.

- Kapinus produced a team-high 19 points and eight rebounds.
- Marisa recorded her 80th double-digit scoring game of her career.
