UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The 10th-ranked Penn State women's ice hockey team was selected to face eighth-ranked Quinnipiac in the first round of the 2023 NCAA tournament Columbus regional on Sunday afternoon. Game time is set for 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 9.
Penn State is coming off its first College Hockey America title and is making their first NCAA tournament appearance.
The Nittany Lions have faced Quinnipiac five times in their history and as the Nittany Lions will look for their first win against the Bobcats in program history. Quinnipiac leads the series 4-0-1.
The winner of the of the game between Penn State and Quinnipiac will face number one seeded Ohio State on Saturday, March 11.
